KEY INFORMATION
F-ONE ADDIKT 2027 - Wave and Strapless Freestyle Kitesurf Kite
What we like
- Drift: This has been the Addikt's signature since its first generation. The kite follows your movement instead of pulling on the lines.
- DLE 140 Front Wing: This second generation features a new material. This enhances structural stability.
- Immediate depower: Power drops the instant you sheet out. The kite remains steerable in that position.
- Overpower forgiveness: F-One has re-worked the canopy tension. The kite is more forgiving when you sheet in too much.
- Low end: Optimized performance means you get support to ride underpowered. The kite does not interfere with your surfing.
- Ten sizes: Ranging from 3.5 to 12 m². This covers an entire wave quiver without needing to switch models.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
A Second Generation, Not a Redesign
F-One didn't start from scratch with the Addikt. The brand maintains the pure surf DNA of the first generation, refining the structure. The result is a more comfortable kite, more forgiving, and more controlled in critical moments, all without losing its bite. Performance remains direct and reactive in every maneuver, but riding becomes more intuitive and less technical. In other words, you spend less time managing the kite and more time watching the wave.
The DLE 140 Front Wing
This is the structural change for this vintage. F-One upgrades the Front Wing to DLE 140, a material that reinforces the kite's structural stability. A Front Wing that deforms less keeps the profile in place when pressure increases, and this is what the brand highlights in this version. For a wave kite, where you often ride overpowered to have speed at the right moment, this kind of detail separates a kite that supports you from one you have to constantly monitor.
Drift: What it Changes in the Waves
F-One talks about an incomparable drift capacity, and that's what riders expect from an Addikt. The kite follows your movement when you ride down the wave instead of pulling on the lines. It becomes completely forgotten while surfing and during all maneuvers. This allows you to execute a bottom turn without thinking about the kite. F-One also emphasizes its neutrality in the waves: the kite doesn't interfere with what the board is doing.
Depower and Speed Control
Depower is immediate; power drops the instant you sheet out, with no delay. F-One also announces better speed control once the kite is depowered. Steering remains precise in this position. This is crucial when a bigger-than-expected set of waves arrives. The kite absorbs both lulls and gusts well, preventing jerks in the harness.
Underpowered or Overpowered: Two Ways to Ride It
F-One embraces both uses. When underpowered, the kite maintains support thanks to its low-end performance: it remains present without disturbing the surf, which is what you want when the wave does the work. When overpowered, the stability and depower allow you to stay in control. This allows you to send strapless jumps. Few models cover both these ranges, which explains the ten-size range.
Canopy tension and struts
The 2027 Addikt brings a significant upgrade: we've re-engineered the canopy tension. This optimizes the strut angles and how loads are distributed across the kite. Better load distribution means the kite works more uniformly. This reduces stress on any single point. You won't see this change in a photo, but you'll definitely feel it after an hour on the water.

FAQ - F-ONE ADDIKT 2027
This kite is for wave and strapless freestyle riders. F-One designed it specifically for surf and strapless riding. This second generation explicitly aims for more comfort and forgiveness. The kite remains sharp, but it's less technical to steer than the first generation.
F-One announced two structural developments: a new Front Wing made of DLE 140 for enhanced structural stability, and re-engineered canopy tension that optimizes strut angles and load distribution. The kite's behavior offers more comfort and tolerance, especially when overpowered.
The Addikt 2027 comes in ten sizes, from 3.5 to 12 m². F-One hasn't yet published the wind ranges for this generation, and we're not using those from the Addikt TEC 2025, as they only apply to that specific model. Call us with your weight, your spot, and the rest of your quiver, and we'll help you dial in the perfect sizes.
First and foremost, the drift is the model's signature. You'll also love the immediate depower and stability, even when sheeted out. Plus, the low-end power lets you ride underpowered with a kite that won't get in your way while surfing.
Always dry the kite completely in the shade before packing it away, and never store it wet. Fold it gently, following the original creases. Respect the maximum inflation pressure. Avoid dragging the Front Wing on sand or pebbles; abrasion is the quickest way to damage a kite.
Pair it with an F-One bar, like the Atom Bar, and the brand's Max Flow pump. Both are available as accessories on this page.
