First up: the leash
The board leash is the essential safety accessory in wing foil. Without it, a board that gets away downwind is impossible to catch. A waist leash (Armstrong, ION Core Waist, Manera) won't get in the way of your feet and avoids getting caught in the foil. Harnesses and Harness Lines
As soon as you start riding for more than twenty minutes, a harness line attached to the wing and a light waist harness (Mystic Majestic Wing, ION Rogue, Forward WIP Wing Belt, Manera Lift) will relieve your forearms and lengthen your sessions. Straps, handles, and boom
Straps secure your feet for pumping, freestyle, and wave riding. V-shaped models (Armstrong, Duotone, Eleveight) make foot entry easier, while flat models (Ride Engine, Mystic) are suitable for freeride. On the wing, a boom (Duotone Fusion, F-ONE Carbon Boom, Armstrong) replaces the handles for a continuous grip and free hand placement. This is appreciated for freestyle and in strong winds. F-ONE rigid, hybrid, or soft handles can be replaced individually.

Frequently Asked Questions
Waist or ankle wing leash?
Use a waist leash as soon as you're up on the foil: it doesn't get in the way of your feet and stays clear of the foil. For your first sessions on your knees, use a coiled ankle or calf leash.
Do you need a harness for wing foil?
Not to begin with. As soon as your sessions last longer than twenty minutes or the wind gets stronger, a harness line and a light waist harness will relieve your arms.
Boom or handles on a wing?
Handles are sufficient and lighter. A boom provides a continuous grip and free hand placement, which is appreciated for freestyle and in high winds. Check that your wing is compatible with a boom.
Which straps for a wing board?
V-straps for pumping and wave riding, flat straps for freeride. Check the insert spacing on your board.
