Sheet updated September 2026
The Duotone Blitz D/LAB is Duotone’s high-modulus carbon Front Wing. It is for pure speed. This isn't a versatile wing, and Duotone doesn't market it as such. Its thin profile, minimal drag, and contained wingspan are all calibrated for rapid acceleration and maintaining high speeds without the foil becoming uncontrollable. The Gullwing curvature, which evokes a seagull’s wing, provides the lateral stability typically missing in such thin profiles. You can choose from two surfaces: 550 cm² and 800 cm². Both are designed to pair with the R 190 stabilizer.
KEY INFORMATION
DUOTONE BLITZ D/LAB FRONT WING - Carbon foil Front Wing, speed-focused
What we like
- Acceleration: The D/LAB profile’s minimal drag builds speed effortlessly. It maintains it once you’re flying.
- Gullwing curvature: The gull-wing dihedral provides lateral balance that thin profiles usually lack. This makes high speeds manageable.
- High-modulus carbon: This material is stiff without being dead. Power transfer is direct. The wing won't flex as your speed increases.
- 3BS+ mounting: The fourth M6 screw in the 47 cm D/LAB tail eliminates play at the interface. This is where classic mounts typically start to flex.
- Two distinct surfaces: The 550 cm² is for pure speed on flat water. The 800 cm² helps you maintain flight at lower speeds. There’s no overlap between the two.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
A speed wing, not an all-rounder
The Blitz holds a precise place in Duotone’s foil range. This is the wing you mount when your goal is to beat the clock or achieve top speed. Its thin profile and low drag provide sharp acceleration. It provides high top speed. However, they come at the cost of lift at low speeds. This means it requires more wind or power to take off than a freeride wing of equivalent surface area. It is also less forgiving of trim errors. If you are looking for a wing for all-around riding, consider the Glide or Spirit range instead.
What the Gullwing curvature changes
The problem with very thin profiles is that they become nervous in roll as speed increases. Duotone addresses this with a Gullwing curvature. The tips curve upwards. This creates a natural self-correction that brings the wing back to flat without constant rider input. Combined with the R 190 stabilizer with winglets, which works on the directional axis, this makes the Blitz manageable at speeds where a classic thin wing would start to slip.
The 3BS+ mounting and screw set
The Blitz attaches to the fuselage using the 3BS+ system. In addition to the usual fixings, a fourth M6 screw in the 47 cm D/LAB tail locks flexion at the interface. This is crucial for high-speed performance. A working mount dissipates energy. Duotone provides the torque specifications: M6x25 screws to the D/LAB tail tightened to 10 Nm, three M8x50 screws to the mast tightened to 15 Nm. Follow these instructions. High-modulus carbon does not tolerate overtightening.
Choosing between the 550 and 800
The 550 cm², with a 68 cm wingspan and an aspect ratio of 8.6, is the faster of the two. It is the choice for flat water and lighter or very experienced riders. The 800 cm², with an 81 cm wingspan and an aspect ratio of 8.4, maintains flight at lower speeds. It supports heavier riders or less consistent conditions, while still being a speed wing. Both use the same R 190 stabilizer. If you are unsure, the 800 is easier to use.

FAQ - DUOTONE BLITZ D/LAB FRONT WING
This is for the advanced foiler who seeks speed and already owns a compatible Duotone mast and fuselage. It is neither a progression wing nor a wave wing. The program is narrow and specific. If you are new to foil, get guidance from an instructor. Choose a wing with more lift.
The 550 cm² is for pure speed on flat water, for lighter riders or advanced riders. The 800 cm² is for maintaining flight when power drops, or if you are heavier. Both are fast wings; the 800 is simply more forgiving.
Duotone recommends the R 190 stabilizer for both sizes. Its winglets enhance directional hold. This is crucial at high speeds. We offer it as an accessory, along with the Tail D/LAB fuselage.
It mounts on Duotone fuselages that accept the 3BS+ system and the D/LAB tail, using three M8x50 screws towards the mast. On a foil from another brand, or an older generation Duotone fuselage, the bolt spacing will not match. If in doubt, call us with your fuselage product code.
We are a kite, wing, and foil shop in Pornichet, on the Atlantic coast. We assemble and tune the gear we sell. We ride it. For questions about mast, fuselage, or stabilizer compatibility, call us; it's faster than a form.
