Slingshot Kite Late Summer 2027: Our Presentation Videos with Clément and Marcus

Published September 11, 2026

Clément from Slingshot and Marcus, one of their team riders, stopped by the shop to film the Late Summer 2027 kite release. François and Kevin joined them. We've compiled all the product-by-product videos here.

This page features the presentation videos for the Slingshot Late Summer 2027 kite release. We filmed them at GlissEvolution in Pornichet with Clément from Slingshot and Slingshot team rider Marcus. We cover six Slingshot products: the Code V3, Code NXT V2, and UFO V4 kites, the DNA, Formula V5, and Era V2 twintips, plus the Ride Engine retractable leash presented by Kevin.

Key Features

  • These videos were filmed right in the shop. They feature the product expert instead of a voiceover.
  • Clément introduces the Code V3 and UFO V4, then the Code NXT V2 and DNA with François. Marcus presents the Formula V5 and Era V2.
  • The Code V3 is the headliner. It's completely redesigned, adopting the Code NXT V2 shape with a more accessible construction.
  • The UFO V4 remains Slingshot's benchmark strutless kite for kite foil, renowned for its exceptional drift.
  • Each section links to the full product page. You'll find complete sizes and prices there, not here.

Why we film with the brand, rather than just using a catalog

A product page tells you what the gear does. It doesn't explain the design philosophy behind it. Clément works at Slingshot, and Marcus rides for the brand. They know what the shapers aimed for when changing a bridle or a core, and they explain it better than we can. For the Code NXT V2 and DNA, François steps in to ask questions from a salesperson's perspective, covering the common inquiries we get at the counter.

The format is simple: one camera, one product, a few minutes. What the video doesn't show, the product page provides.

Slingshot Code V3, presented by Clément

This is the big highlight of this release. The Code V3 is completely redesigned, adopting the shape of the Code NXT V2, the brand's Big Air benchmark. Slingshot's goal was to maintain that level of performance in a more accessible kite.

Clément details it on camera: a refined Leading Edge, a 7-point bridle that changes the bar feel, a re-engineered construction for increased stiffness and lightness, and a Trailing Edge reinforced with semi-rigid struts. When riding, it turns quickly and delivers power very well.

The design brief is intentionally broad. A rider fresh out of lessons can pick it up, and someone who wants to push Big Air, loops, or new school won't feel limited.

Slingshot Code NXT V2, presented by Clément and François

The NXT is the kite that served as the basis for the Code V3. It remains in the catalog for riders who demand uncompromising new school Big Air. Expect vertical boost and fast, controlled loops. Steering is direct.

Available in six sizes, from 7 to 14 m². Clément and François explain in the video what makes the difference when conditions get serious.

Slingshot UFO V4, presented by Clément

The UFO is Slingshot's benchmark foil kite, and it's one of the few strutless kites the foiling community still considers a true reference. Four versions in, the DNA remains unchanged: no struts, feather-light weight, and that signature drift that lets the kite follow you instead of pulling when your speed picks up.

The V4 evolves the kite's behavior without touching what makes its reputation. It turns faster and delivers better upwind performance. Clément walks through the improvements: a thinner, segmented, and stiffer Leading Edge, a slightly more elongated shape, a stiffer and more durable 4x4 canopy, raised wingtips for easier relaunch, and a CODE95 Trailing Edge to limit flapping.

This is the kite we grab when someone wants lightweight foiling and effortless downwind runs. We've got a 9 m² available at our Pornichet test center.

Slingshot DNA, presented by Clément and François

The DNA is the twintip that filled the gap between the Misfit and the Era. It's accessible for freeride progression, yet has enough character to push into freestyle and Big Air.

The X-Core is the technical highlight of this video: a stiff center underfoot lets you load up and generate crisp pop, while more forgiving tips absorb chop and smooth out landings. This design means the board will keep up with you for several seasons, not just one.

Available in four sizes: 133, 137, 141, and 145 cm.

Slingshot Formula V5, presented by Marcus

Slingshot's high-end freeride twintip is now in its fifth iteration, and it's been completely restyled. Expect a taut shape and an aggressive outline.

Marcus highlights three key features: the lightweight carbon construction keeps the board easy to handle despite its performance level, you get genuine comfort in choppy conditions, and the handle comes standard at no extra charge. The Formula V5 aims for a perfect balance of comfort and performance, not pure radicalism.

Three sizes are available: 136, 140, and 144 cm.

Slingshot Era V2, presented by Marcus

The Era is the Big Air freeride twintip designed with Jeremy Burlando. The V2 changes just one thing, and Slingshot stands by it: the top sheet is more deeply recessed. This makes board-offs significantly easier to grab. The design has also been refreshed. Otherwise, the V1 carries over because it already performed so well.

The foundation remains a high-modulus carbon construction, a full-length double concave, and angled fins for grip and upwind performance. It comes in three sizes: 132, 136, and 140 cm.

Ride Engine Re_Tractable Reel Leash, presented by Kevin

While not Slingshot, it's from the same family: Ride Engine is part of the same group and comes through the same channel. Kevin grabs the camera to showcase the brand's retractable leash.

Two configurations are in the catalog: with a waist belt or a calf strap. Components are also available separately if you only need to change the attachment.

Consider this

  • These are product presentations, not reviews. Clément speaks on behalf of Slingshot, and Marcus rides for the brand, so we don't assign ratings.
  • The Era V2 changes little compared to the V1. If you're already riding a V1 in good condition, the only real reason to upgrade to the V2 is the top sheet and the fresh design.
  • The Code V3 adopts the shape of the Code NXT V2, but both remain in the catalog. They target different riders; the NXT remains the more aggressive kite of the two.
  • The UFO V4 is a kite specifically designed for kite foiling. If you're riding a twintip, its drift and lack of struts won't benefit you; in that case, you should check out the Code V3 instead.

We prefer to put the camera on the experts, the brand on what they designed, and our salespeople on what customers ask us at the counter. GlissEvolution

Frequently Asked Questions

Who presents the Slingshot Late Summer 2027 session videos?

Clément from Slingshot presents the Code V3 and the UFO V4, then the Code NXT V2 and the DNA with François from GlissEvolution. Marcus, a Slingshot rider, presents the Formula V5 and the Era V2. Kevin presents the Ride Engine retractable leash. Filming took place at the shop in Pornichet.

What's new with the Slingshot Code V3?

It is completely redesigned and uses the Code NXT V2 shape. It features a refined Leading Edge, a 7-point bridle, re-engineered construction for stiffness and lightness, and a Trailing Edge reinforced with semi-rigid struts. It turns quickly and repowers well, suitable for a wide range of riding from progression to Big Air.

What is the difference between the Slingshot Formula V5 and the Era V2?

The Formula V5 is Slingshot's high-end freeride twintip. Made from lightweight carbon, it offers a comfortable ride in chop and comes with its handle. It's available in 136, 140, and 144 cm. The Era V2 is the Big Air freeride twintip designed with Jeremy Burlando. It features high-modulus carbon with a full-length double concave and comes in 132, 136, and 140 cm.

Why is the Slingshot UFO a benchmark in kite foil?

It introduced the strutless kite for kite foiling and has maintained this role for four versions. No struts mean very low weight and a drift that allows the kite to follow the rider instead of pulling them. The V4 retains this behavior and gains in turning speed and upwind performance. A 9 m² is available for testing at the shop; call 09 62 64 74 77.

Who is the Slingshot DNA made for?

For a rider who is progressing and does not want to change boards every year. It sits between the Misfit and the Era. It features an X-Core that combines a stiff center underfoot with more forgiving tips in chop and on landings. Four sizes are available: 133, 137, 141, and 145 cm.
