KEY INFORMATION

DUOTONE GLIDE 3.0 D/LAB 2027 - High Aspect Ratio Foil Front Wing

What we like

  • Aspect ratio up to 12.4: the lift-to-drag ratio increases, extending the glide
  • Crest-inspired profile: provides lift at low speeds, reducing pumping fatigue
  • Mustache geometry: offers a freer and more playful roll response than the Glide 2.0
  • 3BS+ connection: a fourth screw enhances pitch stability across the entire range
  • Controlled tip exits: the tip resurfaces and re-engages without breaking the glide
  • Small sizes available: the range starts at 600 cm², which is rare for a high aspect ratio
  • HM and IM prepreg carbon: ensures stiffness, efficiency, and responsiveness

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The high-end of the Glide family

The Glide 3.0 D/LAB is the most advanced version in the range, made from high and intermediate modulus prepreg carbon. It's designed for advanced riders who demand the best possible performance in glide and pumping. Its aspect ratio reaches 12.4 in 600 cm², a value previously unavailable on such small surfaces.

A forgiving profile, not just fast

The profile concept comes from the Crest D/LAB: it continues to provide lift when speed drops instead of stalling. This makes a high aspect ratio wing usable, as the limit of a thin wing is always its low-end. Here, maintaining flight in low-energy conditions is easier, pumping becomes more efficient, and glide phases are extended.

The mustache wingtip changes behavior

The most visible improvement over the Glide 2.0 is the mustache geometry with upturned tips. Roll response becomes significantly freer and more playful. Turning handling improves, and the wing allows its tips to exit and re-enter the water without compromising stability. A long wing is no longer a wing that doesn't turn.

The 3BS+ connection and the fourth screw

The D/LAB uses the 3BS+ system, compatible with a fourth M6 x 32 TX30 screw. This additional screw improves pitch stability and control across the entire speed range. On a high aspect ratio, where the lever arm is significant, the stiffness of the connection determines steering precision as much as the profile itself.

Five surfaces, from 600 to 1100

The range covers 600, 700, 825, 950, and 1100 cm², with an aspect ratio that decreases from 12.4 to 11.4. The wingspan goes from 86 to 112 cm. Smaller surfaces are suitable for strong winds, lighter riders, and fast winging; larger ones for downwind, parawing, and prone in small conditions.

Compatibility

The wing accepts all D/LAB tails, H, S, and PX stabilizers, as well as the new Monobloc tails. Duotone recommends an MB-PX145 up to 825 cm² then an MB-PX160 for wing and foil assist, and an MB-H130 up to 825 cm² then an MB-H150 for prone, parawing, and downwind. The screw set is not included.

FAQ - DUOTONE GLIDE 3.0 D/LAB 2027

Who is the Duotone Glide 3.0 D/LAB 2027 designed for?

This is for the advanced rider in wing foil, prone, parawing, or downwind. They seek the best glide and pumping performance. The profile remains forgiving, but this is a high aspect ratio wing. It requires precise steering.

What are the key characteristics of the Duotone Glide 3.0 D/LAB 2027?

High and intermediate modulus prepreg carbon, Crest-inspired profile, mustache geometry with raised tips, 3BS+ connection compatible with a fourth M6 x 32 TX30 screw. Five surfaces from 600 to 1100 cm², aspect ratio from 11.4 to 12.4.

How do you choose the right Duotone Glide 3.0 D/LAB 2027 size?

From 600 cm² for strong wind and lighter riders, to 1100 cm² for downwind and light conditions. Duotone states you can go down one size compared to the Glide 2.0 due to the increased aspect ratio. Tell us your weight and main discipline.

What's the difference between the Glide 3.0 D/LAB and the Glide 3.0 SLS 2027?

Same geometry and profile, different construction and range. The D/LAB ranges from 600 to 1100 cm² with the 3BS+ connection and its fourth screw. The SLS ranges from 825 to 1400 cm² with an M8 screw set included. It targets a more contained budget.

Which stabilizer should you pair with the Duotone Glide 3.0 D/LAB 2027?

For wing and foil assist, use an MB-PX145 from 600 to 825 cm², then an MB-PX160 for 950 and 1100. For prone, parawing, and downwind, use an MB-H130 up to 825 cm², then an MB-H150.

How do you maintain your Duotone Glide 3.0 D/LAB 2027?

Rinse with fresh water, focusing on the connection and screw set first. Dry before storage. Check the tightness before each session. Do not forget the fourth screw if your setup allows it; it controls the pitch.
