Quentin Laval, Duotone Ambassador

I started sailing at 6 years old on my home spot: Notre-Dame-de-Monts in Vendée. In 2005, at 9 years old, I discovered kitesurf for the first time while attending the world championships in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie.

A few years later, I spent several summers as an assistant instructor, before becoming a sailing instructor at 18 (catamaran and windsurf). That's when everything started to click.

It was in 2016 that I really got into kitesurf. I started with a twintip, but quickly switched to strapless surf. The feeling of freedom, watersports, waves... it was a revelation. What I love about strapless is that mix of surf and pure fun on the water.

To ride even in light wind, I first got into kitefoil, then wing. And there, a second passion. Wing immediately captivated me: simplicity, sensations, incredible freedom of movement.

Gliding on the swell, surfing the small local waves, moving wherever you want on the spot... it's pure joy.

Since my beginnings, I've been passionate about gear. Understanding, testing, comparing... I love everything North then Duotone offers, both for the sensations and the innovation.

I can spend hours discussing the latest wings, boards, or advising on choosing a quiver.

Mainly around Notre-Dame-de-Monts, but also in the bay of La Baule when the bar is there. Always up for sharing a session or chatting about gear!
