DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The Black Label Deck
The maple deck measures 32.5 inches long by 10 inches wide, with a pintail shape and a 17.75-inch wheelbase optimized for maneuverability. It's mounted with 69 mm Roundhouse wheels, and all components have been selected for durability and responsiveness. The deck is built from seven plies of maple on the HPR17 mold, with a contoured nose kick and an extended wheelbase that allows for a wider stance. Carver describes it as a timeless mid-length, designed for smooth, powerful carving, with a wood panel graphic inspired by 60s longboards.
The C7 truck system in detail
The C7 is Carver's dual-axis system. A swing arm and the kingpin work together to create two dimensions of movement, lateral travel and tilt, where a standard truck only offers one. A spring housed in the base compresses during turns and is adjusted by a screw, allowing both axes to be adjusted independently. The turning arc is wider than on the CX, giving a more drawn-out feel. Carver compares it to a single-fin surfboard, where pumping feels effortless. This is the system of choice for longboarders and anyone looking for maximum flow. It's slightly heavier than the CX and is paired with a Carver C2 rear truck.
Original setup
This board arrives fully assembled and ready to roll. It ships from the factory with 69mm 78a Roundhouse Concave wheels, Carver ABEC 7 bearings integrated directly into the wheel, two 3/16-inch Carver risers (totaling 3/8-inch), and a 1.25-inch Carver countersunk hardware set. Roundhouse wheels are Carver's in-house range, designed specifically for surfskating: their profile and urethane formula prioritize grip when loaded up in a turn and a smooth roll over pure speed. Nothing to add or assemble, just pull it out of the box and go skate.
CX or C7: which to choose?
Carver's patented C7 system replicates the movements of surfing on pavement, offering unmatched smoothness in tight turns. It's the system to choose for a dynamic, flowing ride that's as close as possible to the feel of surfing. Carver themselves summarize the choice between their two systems this way: the CX for a snappier rail-to-rail feel, and the C7 for that smoother, more drawn-out surf feel. This model is available with both truck setups. If you're not sure, give us a call: we'll help you choose based on your riding style, your usual spots, and your surfing background.
