The Duotone Monobloc Tail F D/LAB 2027 is Duotone's monobloc carbon stabilizer, purpose-built for freestyle and kitefoil. This tail and stabilizer are molded from a single piece of carbon, screwing directly under the D/LAB Front Wing. It measures 37 cm long, with a surface area of 165 cm² and an aspect ratio of 6.5. This is the shortest option in the Monobloc platform. Duotone started with the PX stab profile, then re-engineered the angle of incidence and the twist of the tips to load the front foot. It was designed around the Pop D/LAB foil.

What we like
- One-piece tail and stab: There's no bolted interface between the fuselage and the stabilizer, which eliminates any play that can develop over time. The connection to the Front Wing is direct. This gives you sharper feedback to the foot.
- 37 cm, the shortest in the platform: You get approximately 60 cm of total fuselage when paired with a D/LAB Front Wing. The foil pivots quickly in pitch, letting you load and release energy without delay.
- 165 cm² and aspect ratio 6.5: This compact surface has a 32.8 cm wingspan. It provides enough lift to maintain trim, with minimal drag for speed in kitefoiling.
- Reworked angle and twist: This is what sets the F apart from the PX. You get more available power, increased pressure on the front foot, and support you'll feel right from take-off.
- D/LAB Carbon: Duotone's high-modulus layup is a blend of HM and IM fibers, simulated by computer. It's lightweight and very stiff, so it won't deform under high loads.
- Screws included: M6 x 25 screws are in the box. Tighten them to 10 Nm on the 3BS+ system, with the fourth screw locking the pitch stability.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
What the Monobloc changes
On a classic foil, the stabilizer screws onto the end of a fuselage. That's two pieces, an interface, and play that eventually develops. The Monobloc eliminates this interface. The tail and stabilizer come from the same carbon mold, and the entire assembly attaches directly to the D/LAB Front Wing. Drag decreases, torsional stiffness increases, and there's one less part to disassemble at the water's edge.
Why 37 cm
A 37 cm tail gives approximately 60 cm of total fuselage with a D/LAB Front Wing. This is short. The pitch changes quickly, the foil requires active steering, and a beginner foiler will find this length twitchy. In freestyle, this is exactly what you want: immediate reaction to pressure and the ability to release energy at the right moment, whether on a pop or a series of re-pops.
The F profile versus the PX profile
The F retains the base of the PX stab with two modifications. The incidence angle is revised, and the tips have a more pronounced twist. The stabilizer pushes more on the front foot, the pressure is firmer on take-off, the flight remains locked once launched, and landings don't stall. In kitefoil, this same characteristic maintains speed where a more lifting stab would pitch up.
Assembly and Compatibility
The Monobloc Tail F mounts on Duotone D/LAB Front Wings using the 3BS+ system, with four M6 x 25 screws tightened to 10 Nm. The fourth screw holds the assembly in pitch; it is not optional. For an SLS or Original Front Wing, you'll need an AL 3BS frontpiece. Duotone recommends it with the Pop D/LAB, with which it was designed.

FAQ - DUOTONE MONOBLOC TAIL F D/LAB 2027
This is for the freestyle wing foil or kite rider, and the kitefoiler who wants speed. It requires active steering, so it's best for intermediate to expert riders. For prone or downwind, the longer Monobloc Tail H D/LAB is a better fit.
It only comes in 37 / F165, which means a 37 cm tail and 165 cm² surface area. You don't need to decide on the tail size; your choice depends on the D/LAB Front Wing you mount in front.
Duotone designed it around the Pop D/LAB. It mounts on the entire range of D/LAB Front Wings. It also mounts on an SLS or Original Front Wing with an AL 3BS frontpiece. For the mast, D/LAB, SLS, and AL 3BS are suitable.
Rinse with fresh water after each session, then dry. Regularly check the torque of the four screws: 10 Nm, no more, no less. Overtightening marks the carbon. Store it in a foil bag. The carbon trailing edges mark when in contact with other parts.
