Sabfoil Blackbird hydrofoil set, Balz Müller Pro model. This full carbon Blackbird foil set, developed with Balz Müller, is built for freestyle, wave riding, and speed. SABFOIL BALZ PRO 965 BLACKBIRD INTEGRATED KIT: FAQ
Sabfoil designed the KBZ-965-385-85/BB for Freestyle Pro, freestyle, freeride, wave, and fast freeride riders. It's aimed at wing foiling and surf foiling in light wind conditions. It takes off in 10 to 12 knots and has a top speed of 22 to 24 knots for an 80 kg rider.
All three kits share the same M85/BB mast. The main difference is the front wing's surface area: 792 cm² for the 805 (medium-strong wind), 998 cm² for the 905 (light-medium wind), and 1210 cm² for the 965 (this kit, light wind). The 965 and 905 share the same Progressive 385 stab, while the 805 uses a smaller Progressive 365. A larger front wing means an earlier take-off but a lower top speed: 28-30 knots (805) vs 25-27 (905) vs 22-24 (this 965 kit).
Sabfoil offers two versions of the Balz Pro 965 kit. The Integrated Backtail (KBZ-965-385-85/BB, this kit) has the fuselage built into the Progressive 385 stab. The Modular Full Carbon (KBZ965-FCM-425-85/BB) has a modular setup. Sabfoil states that both versions perform identically and have the same price of €1899.
Yes, the kit includes everything you need: the WBZ965/BB front wing, the Progressive 385 stab with integrated fuselage, the Piantone Blackbird 85 mast, the Carbon Rail plate with titanium inserts (CP02K/Ti), and a full hardware set (MHQ02, MH144, MH137, MH160, MH171, MH172). The board is not included.
For the front wing, get the Sabfoil Cover Front Wing H (product code MA041). It's also compatible with the WBZ905, WBZ965, BALZ909, BALZ969, WM899, and WM999 models. For the stabilizer, the Sabfoil Cover Stabilizer A (product code MA037) fits all Sabfoil stabs.
Balz Müller is a world-renowned pro rider and a key Sabfoil partner. The "Balz Pro" range is his signature series, co-developed with the brand and personally tested by him to dial in the final design.
