Yann Godet, F-ONE Ambassador
My name is Yann, I live in Batz-sur-Mer and I work as a sales engineer. Passionate about watersports since forever, I grew up between mountains and ocean, depending on my parents' professional moves.
My father put me on skis at 3 years old, then on a windsurf board at 8. I competed in both sports for almost 10 years. But the call of the sea has always been the strongest.
In 2001, before moving from Grenoble to Nantes, I discovered kitesurf in Tarifa. This impromptu course was a real revelation.
In 2003, I met Greg through the Flysurf.com forum and then at the Saint-Brévin spot. Shortly after, he launched the GlissEvolution adventure. I definitively gave up windsurfing for kite, and I became president of the Newkite association after him. For 7 years, we grew the local community in a spirit of mutual aid, respect, and sharing, while defending our sport on the beaches of Saint-Brévin.
After that, I stepped back a bit to dedicate myself to my children and another passion: trail running and ultra-endurance.
In 2018, we settled in Batz-sur-Mer. Being able to go for a session right outside your home, even for a quick one, is a real privilege.
Then came wing. For several months, I watched my friends get into it. Hesitant at first (bad memories of kitefoil), I took advantage of Covid to try it... and it was a second shock! Feelings of freedom, silence, freefly, the possibility of riding on spots forbidden to kite in summer... I was hooked.
Today, I ride about 80% of the time in wing and 20% in kite (mainly strapless freeride).
Joining the GlissEvolution team and representing F-ONE is a source of pride and a logical continuation of a long shared history. For me, F-ONE is a French brand that pushes watersports forward: accessible, high-performance, easy-to-tune gear, developed consistently year after year.
