Louis, Eleveight Kites Ambassador

Born in 1984 in Northern Brittany, my parents introduced me to the sea and watersports from a very young age.

I became passionate about dinghy racing (Laser, 49er), then keelboats (Melges 24, Farr 30, M34), and even sport trimarans (Diam 24). My entire childhood was spent on the water.

After high school, I naturally turned to the Merchant Navy. During my studies, I windsurfed and discovered kitesurf. In 2006, with my first paychecks, I got my gear. It was a revelation. Kite gradually replaced traditional sailing.

Today, I am still a Merchant Navy officer (now a harbor pilot). As soon as I can get on the water, I go! I also started surfing regularly, then wing, which brings me a lot of joy.

The best part of all this: I can share this passion with my family. My wife also got hooked on kite, and we often go to the beach with our two daughters.

In kite, I have a varied practice: twin-tip for old school and big air, strapless in the waves, and sometimes foil. I have always looked for allround kites.

The revelation was the Eleveight RS: an incredibly versatile kite, excellent in all disciplines. My wife also loves it. So we share a complete quiver of Eleveight RS.

What impresses me the most: its ability to be ideal for beginners, while still allowing you to get airborne without a problem. With the 8 m or 9 m, I have achieved some very nice jumps (personal record: 22.8 m with the RS 8 m).

It took me a while to get into wing, but certain advantages convinced me. In Northern Brittany, you sometimes have to drive for over an hour to find a kite spot. Wing allows you to ride almost anywhere, even with little space or with wind shadows.

In summer in La Baule, between prohibitions and traffic jams, it's not always easy to go kiting. I started wing as a backup solution, then I discovered wing surfing... and that's when I fell in love.

Our region (Loire-Atlantique) offers soft waves that are difficult to paddle surf. With wing, they become an incredible playground!

• Board: Eleveight Evolve 5’2 (90 L), significant volume to be able to paddle back if the wind drops. • Wing: ENSIS Score, powerful at take-off, discreet when surfing. • Foil: I am still testing many combinations to find the ideal foil (quick take-off, easy pumping, fluid turns).

See you on the water soon!
