Kevin Perrin: Wingfoil expert at Glissevolution

About me:

Hey fellow wingers!

Born in 1980, I'm originally from the Mayenne region, 1m70 tall and 65kg.

I discovered windsurfing around the age of 10, thanks to my dad who was a competitor (Silver medal at the 1992 World Championship in the Jaguar class and numerous national and European titles).

I started competing around age 12 on the Tiga Aloha, followed by the Mistral One Design and the Raceboard.

I even competed in a few French youth championships alongside the BOSS, Greg. Don't worry, he was behind me.

I went through the sports-study program in 1997-98 and competed at a high level in La Baule with my twin sister Pauline in the Olympic Mistral One Design class.

I've always been passionate about watersports, so it was a natural step for me to get into coaching to share my passion.

I've been a certified sailing and sand yachting instructor for over 20 years, and I'm still active.

• My riding is now 100% Foil:

I started windfoiling in March 2017 and got back into competing.

My first attempts at wingfoiling were in September 2019 with Harold Cessa.

Now, I've been exclusively wingfoiling since March 2021. I've put windsurf, windfoil, and kite on hold. Too many toys, not enough space, and I was tired of juggling all the different gear.

• Wingfoil offers so much freedom:

- Versatility of the sport (upwind, downwind, surfoil, freefly, freeride, freestyle, race).

- Minimal gear clutter.

- Quick and easy setup.

- Accessible at all spots (except in heavy shore break).

- Incredible wind range, from under 10 knots on the low end to no upper limit.
