When you're kitesurfing, every fall or choppy water run lets water into your wetsuit through the leg openings. This water then rises, inflates the neoprene, and chills you to the bone. These Ride Engine straps cinch over your wetsuit at the ankles, sealing off that entry point. Even wetsuits with ankle drainage holes don't completely solve the problem; these straps tackle it at the source.
Crafted from thin, waterproof Hypalon, these straps feature a hook-and-loop closure, a tapered shape that hugs your ankle, and an alignment loop to keep them perfectly in place. Sold in pairs.

FAQ
What are these ankle straps for?
They stop water from entering through the bottom of your wetsuit legs. Without them, water goes up your legs, makes the wetsuit heavy, and cools you down. This is especially true in kitesurfing, where falls and riding through waves are frequent.
How do I put them on?
Put on your wetsuit. Then, wrap a strap around each ankle, over the neoprene, and close the hook-and-loop fastener. Tighten enough to block water without cutting off circulation.
My wetsuit already has drain holes. Are these useful?
Yes. Drain holes at the ankles let water out, but they do not stop it from coming in. The straps limit water entry from the start.
