The Best-Seller, Now in Carbon
The Whip has been a staple in the Duotone lineup for years because it generates speed even when the wave lacks power. The D/LAB is the premium version. It features the same compact and responsive shape but with carbon construction. This makes it about 20% lighter than the SLS. For 2027, Duotone has introduced a new rail shape and a fresh color.
Hip-Squash Tail and Elevated Rocker
The hip-squash tail, combined with an elevated rocker, allows for incredibly sharp and perfectly controlled top turns. The drive-oriented rocker works in harmony with a channeled hull shape to generate and maintain speed, even in soft or underpowered sections. This is the signature feel of the Whip.
Thinner rails
The 2027 shape innovation features refined rails that boost grip and precision in critical sections. This means the edge bites instead of sliding when you engage, and the board goes exactly where you want it.
Carbon, Innegra, and stringer.
The D/LAB construction layers +/- 45° carbon, a carbon stringer, an Innegra wrap, and +/- 45° fiberglass. The Innegra reduces vibrations and enhances durability in choppy conditions. The result is a board that is light, stiff, and responsive. It provides direct feedback on what is happening underfoot.
The RMF 3.0
The Reflex Memory Foam Shock Absorber 3.0 absorbs impacts and reduces chatter. On a strapless board that often lands flat, this feature makes the difference between a long session and giving up after an hour. Here, comfort directly serves performance.

It offers the lightness of carbon on a shape that already generates speed in light wind. It's about 20% lighter than the SLS. The RMF 3.0 absorbs impacts that carbon alone would not.
Always rinse your board with fresh water, including the fin boxes, and let it dry in the shade. Its lightweight carbon construction is not designed for impacts: always use a bag for transport, and never set it down on pebbles. Before every session, double-check your fin screws.
Add a deck pad, the Duotone Traction Pad Front 2027, and a surf bag. Fins are included. A wave or strapless freestyle kite completes the setup.
