Surf Foils: Prone, Surf, and Pump Foiling

Surf foiling unlocks a whole new dimension on the water, letting you fly above the surface and ride soft swells or no-wind days that were previously unrideable. Since 2005, our team of passionate riders at GlissEvolution in Pornichet has been dedicated to helping you choose the perfect foil for your riding style and skill level. Prone, Surf, or Pump Foiling?

With prone foiling, you paddle into waves while lying on your board, just like traditional Surf. Towed or paddle surf foiling lets you link waves seamlessly, flying from one to the next. Pump foil, on the other hand, allows you to generate speed and connect waves using only your leg power. All these disciplines share the same core spirit: pure glide, even in minimal conditions.

Choosing the Right Foil for Surfing

For surfing, we recommend a maneuverable and playful Front Wing, paired with a medium-length mast and a shorter fuselage for maximum responsiveness in the wave. If you're just starting out, a slightly larger Front Wing will make take-off and control much easier.

What's the Budget for a Surf Foil?

As a guide for 2026, excluding sale items: expect to pay around 800 to 1.€000 for an entry-level complete foil, and more for carbon and performance ranges. Components are also available individually.
