DETAILED DESCRIPTION
A hybrid design for control
The Focus Hybrid takes the DNA of the Focus range and adds a hybrid design for greater stability, speed, and comfort. This wing delivers a softer, more progressive traction. It absorbs power peaks better and remains solid in the window. It maintains reassuring behavior when conditions get irregular. It is more stable at high speeds than a single skin. This allows for efficient upwind performance and long sessions without being affected by wind variations.
Short bridle and simplified packing
The Focus Hybrid's short bridle combines central A-lines made of spliced Dyneema (Pack A-Lines) to quickly reach the Leading Edge and gather the battens in a single motion. The lines are color-coded. The non-abrasive Dyneema makes folding easy without snagging. The result: quick, clean packing and redeployment without losing time between runs.
Clean Bar and steering
The deck architecture and clean bar offer a streamlined grip: comfortable EVA foam grip, hands protected from the lines, and direct steering. A depower handle allows for quick power adjustment. It extends the wind range when conditions pick up. The whole setup remains simple, clear, and efficient, true to the range's philosophy.
Flight Behavior and Wind Range
The Focus Hybrid is for medium to strong winds. It excels in high-speed handling and long upwind performance. Its cushioned pull reduces jolts through the front lines. This gives you predictable, stable handling even when the pace picks up. This is the ideal wing for fast freeride, speed, and sessions where control is paramount.
Materials and Durability
The Focus Hybrid is built with a durable, hydrophobic 31g fabric. It features reinforcements at key stress points and battens for longevity. This wing handles real-world use. It maintains its shape and stiffness over time. It remains reliable session after session, both on the water and when packing.
Adjustable Harness Line and Backpack
The included, adjustable harness line lets you fine-tune your ride for more freedom, depower, stability, or power, depending on the conditions and your riding style. The included backpack is light, simple, and designed to be forgotten. It is worn high on your back. It is compatible with a stash-belt and harness. It holds a parawing so you can travel light and ride carefree.
FOCUS OR FOCUS HYBRID: HOW TO CHOOSE?
| Focus | Focus Hybrid | |
|---|---|---|
| Bar feel | Light, direct, free, responsive | Stable, smooth, locked-in, with more support and feedback |
| Bar pressure | Low, the wing is forgotten | More present, dampens wind variations |
| Behavior | Natural, intuitive, responsive | Stable in trajectory, stays on a rail, forgiving, impossible frontals |
| Construction | Single skin | Hybrid |
| Ideal program | Light wind, upwind, downwind, freeride, waves, compact packing | Strong wind (small sizes), fast freeride and speed (large sizes) |
| Level | Beginner to expert | All levels in small sizes, intermediate to expert in 4.9 and 5.6 |
In short
Choose the Focus for simplicity, lightness, easy take-off, the most intuitive packing, upwind, downwind, or wave riding.
Choose the Focus Hybrid 2.8, 3.5 or 4.2 for maximum stability and safety in strong winds. This parawing stays in place, maintains its trajectory, and forgives mishandling.
Choose the Focus Hybrid 4.9 or 5.6 if you are an intermediate to expert rider looking for a stable, fast, and high-performance parawing for freeride or speed, even in light wind. The upwind performance remains very close to the Focus; the key difference is in trajectory stability.
