DETAILED DESCRIPTION
X-Form: Precision Molded Board Technology
X-Form (Precision Molded Board Technology) was developed by Armstrong to reduce weight while solving durability and consistency challenges in board manufacturing. Each Midlength Mk II is formed in a single cycle under uniform pressure and temperature, with zero distortion. Rigid proprietary CNC molds and internal components machined to exact tolerances ensure that each board comes out identical. This preserves the intended ride characteristics, providing predictable performance from one session to the next.
Reinforced Construction with Dual Carbon Stringers
The entire core of the board is wrapped in high-density PVC, so even if the board cracks, water is not absorbed like it is with a standard EPS core. The Large Sphere EPS core is molded under high pressure for maximum stiffness, while the HD PVC wrapped rails protect the most exposed areas. The standing area is reinforced with an additional PVC panel to handle the hardest landings. The i-beam Dual Carbon Stringers connect the deck to the bottom for total structural stiffness, and the carbon foil tracks are keyed directly into these stringers for a perfectly integrated construction.
Refined X-Form Profile, Direct Foil Connection
Thanks to the new X-Form construction, the Mk II's refined profile offers a much more direct connection to your foil and drastically reduces unwanted touch-downs. The volume distribution is optimized to maintain stability and balance while keeping the board lower on the water. The result is a cleaner, more connected feel, with more feedback and confidence in all conditions.
Bottom Design, Squash Tail & Forward Geometry
The new bottom shape combines a subtle double concave that transitions into a V at the tail to generate early lift, smooth out touch-downs, and release the foil cleanly. The softer edges and flatter section at the tail reduce drag. The surf-style squash tail provides stability right from the start and keeps the rails parallel for longer, which helps build speed quickly. The Forward Geometry places the foil tracks further forward to reduce swing weight and increase responsiveness, while remaining compatible with any foil brand.

FAQ, ARMSTRONG MIDLENGTH FG MK 2 2026
The Midlength Mk II is a versatile board designed by Armstrong for intermediate to expert riders who want a single board capable of covering multiple riding disciplines: Wing Foil, Prone Foil, Foil Assist, and SUP Foil (on the larger sizes). Its surf-inspired midlength outline offers an excellent balance of glide, stability, and handling.
The Mk II introduces the new X-Form construction, a precision CNC molding process in a single cycle, under uniform pressure and temperature, using proprietary rigid molds (unlike flexible fiber molds that can deform). According to Armstrong, this results in a significantly thinner profile, a stiffer board, more durable, and lighter for the same volume, with a more direct connection to the foil. The range also expands with two additional sizes (115 L and 130 L) not available in the Mk I.
The choice depends on rider weight and primary discipline. Here are some guidelines:
- 38 L to 55 L: For Prone Foil, and Wing Foil for light riders or advanced riders in strong wind.
- 65 L to 85 L: All-round versatility for Wing, Prone, and Foil Assist for riders from 70-90 kg.
- 75 L to 100 L: Recommended by Armstrong for a Foil Drive setup. The extra volume improves balance, take-offs, and recovery.
- 115 L and 130 L: Ideal for SUP Foil and very light wind Wing sessions, for heavier riders or learners.
If you're unsure, just contact us: our expert team will help you choose the right board for your skill level, weight, and riding style.
Yes. The board features a dedicated remote signal window, ensuring a clear, interference-free connection with your Foil Drive unit. Armstrong specifically recommends the 75 L to 100 L sizes for an optimal Foil Drive setup, as the additional volume aids in balance and recovery.
No. The board has integrated strap inserts but the footstraps themselves are not supplied. You can use Armstrong footstraps, sold separately, or straps from your preferred brand.
The Midlength Mk II is compatible with any foil system using standard US foil tracks. It is designed for optimal performance with an Armstrong foil (MA Mk II, HA, UHA, S1) or a Foil Drive system.
Availability varies by size. Check the size selector above for real-time stock levels or estimated delivery times. If you pre-order, your board is reserved and will be shipped as soon as we receive it from Armstrong.
