De retour d'une semaine a Tenerife, Greg Nicholls, le fondateur de Glissevolution nous livre ses impressions sur la North Rebel 2017 en 12m.
En résumé
- Le light wind d'El Medanô m'a "obligé" à rider en 12m, et j'ai été agréablement surpris par la Rebel 2017 .
- Mon gabarit plutôt lourd (95kg), fait qu'habituellement je suis plutôt le dernier à naviguer dans le vent faible.
- À ma grande surprise, je naviguais aussi tôt que les autres riders qui étaient en 12m...
- L'aile tire fort dans les "avants" obligeant à appuyer assez fort sur le pied arrière pour remonter au vent.
Back from a week in Tenerife, Greg Nicholls, the founder of GlissEvolution, shares his impressions of the North Rebel 2017 12m kite.
El Medano's light wind "forced" me to ride a 12m, and I was pleasantly surprised by the Rebel 2017.My rather heavy build (95kg) usually means I'm the last one out in light wind.To my great surprise, I was riding as early as other riders on 12m kites... The Rebel 2017 therefore has an exceptional low end.The kite pulls hard on the front lines, requiring significant pressure on the back foot to go upwind.I actually found the kite more enjoyable when positioned higher in the wind window.The North Rebel is very maneuverable for a 12m, and doesn't require too much bar pressure to turn it.I should mention that I was using the North 5th element bar in 24m, with the bar ends extended outwards to get the widest possible bar.The biggest surprise was the kite's lift.Without being overly powered, the kite goes up and carries for a long time...I rediscovered the joy of board offs; the kite's lift gives you plenty of time to take the board off and put it back on your feet.It's clearly not a kite for unhooked riding, but it pivots quite well in kiteloops (for a 12m...)When the wind picked up, the Rebel depowers well and holds its own, and jumping becomes like parasailing...In conclusion, the Rebel 2017 12m is an excellent choice for stronger riders who want to ride in light wind without feeling like they're on a huge kite.The Rebel 2017 12m is available for testing at GlissEvolution; don't hesitate to ask to try it or come to one of our test days.
