While advertised for "progression" use, it remains an excellent freeride board that can accompany you throughout your development in the sport. On the water, the grip is firm yet forgiving of foot placement errors, making it a very tolerant board. Upwind performance is good and immediate. We also found that the Gonzales cuts through the water and handles choppy conditions comfortably, should the chop increase during your session. Playful, it will delight you with "old school" riding and good pop for jumps.Kiteboarder magazine did have one reservation about the pads:However, the pads are a bit harder than average and can become uncomfortable in choppy water or during committed jump landings.The pads supplied as standard are the "vario" pads which, depending on preference, can be a bit hard.
