A highly anticipated board
The Duotone Soar 2026 marks a turning point in the brand's kitefoil range. Anticipated for several years, it succeeds the Pace, launched in 2020, which has largely proven its worth. This new version, available only in 4'2 and 3'7, brings a modern approach with a redesigned shape, a refined design, and an SLS carbon construction that aims for performance and versatility.
A Redesigned Look
Visually, the Soar adopts a sanded finish and a mastic bamboo color reminiscent of the Concept Blue range. Its geometry evolves with a more rectangular deck, an accentuated rocker, and more volume under the front foot. The bottom is now flat, eliminating the Pace's double concave. Thinner than before, it weighs 3.55 kg, which is 700 g more than the previous version-an imperceptible difference when riding.
Features and Comfort
The board stands out with a full-length pad offering solid and comfortable grip. The soft nubs ensure comfort and control, especially during transitions. The rear strap is positioned very close to the transom, with two possible adjustments, while the front strap benefits from five options for a V-mount or a single line. We also note the return of M6 self-tapping screws with a cylindrical head, which are practical to install.
Rail Versatility
The new open rail configuration brings a real plus in terms of modularity. Extended both front and back, they allow for fine adjustment of the foil's position and easy switching between wing use, kitefoil, or even pumping. Mounting and dismounting are done in record time, which will appeal to riders who chain sessions or frequently transport their gear. However, there is a discrepancy between this wide range of adjustments and the limited margin left for the rear strap. Finally, the absence of included straps and screws remains a drawback, especially on a board positioned in this price range.
On-water sensations
From the first runs, the Soar impresses with its direct connection to the foil. It provides control, stiffness, and responsiveness, with excellent stability during acceleration and landing. The flat bottom facilitates water starts and planing take-offs, while ensuring stability at low speeds. It perfectly absorbs touchdowns and simplifies foot changes, making it suitable for both experienced riders and those progressing.
