DETAILED DESCRIPTION
A hybrid design built for control
The Focus Hybrid builds on the Focus range's DNA, adding a hybrid design for more stability, speed, and comfort. The parawing delivers a smoother, more progressive pull, soaking up power spikes and staying solid in the wind window. It has a predictable feel that inspires confidence when conditions get gusty. More stable at high speed than a single-skin design, it lets you drive efficiently upwind for long sessions without getting thrown off by changes in the wind.
Short bridle and simplified packing
The Focus Hybrid's short bridle combines central A-lines in spliced Dyneema (Pack A-Lines) to quickly access the leading edge and gather the internal rods in one go. The lines are color-coded, and the non-abrasive Dyneema makes for snag-free folding. The result is fast, clean packing, so you can set up again quickly between runs.
Clean Bar and steering
The bridge-style architecture and clean bar provide a minimalist grip: comfortable EVA foam, hands protected from the lines, and direct steering. A depower handle lets you quickly adjust the power and extend the wind range when conditions build. The entire setup is simple, clean, and effective, true to the philosophy of the Focus line.
Flight behavior and wind range
Designed for medium to strong winds, the Focus Hybrid excels at high-speed handling and long upwind tacks. Its dampened pull smooths out jolts through the front lines, giving it a solid and predictable feel, even when you're pushing it hard. It's the ideal parawing for fast freeride, speed riding, and any session where control is key.
Materials and Durability
The Focus Hybrid is built from a tough, hydrophobic 31g fabric, with reinforcements at key stress points and durable internal rods. This parawing is made to handle real-world use, holding its shape and stiffness over time. It stays reliable session after session, both on the water and during packing.
Adjustable harness line and backpack
The included, adjustable harness line can be moved while riding to tune for more freedom, depower, stability, or power, adapting to the conditions and your riding style. The supplied backpack is light, simple, and designed to go unnoticed. Worn high on the back, it's compatible with a stash-belt and harness, and holds one parawing so you can travel light and ride freely.
FOCUS OR FOCUS HYBRID: HOW TO CHOOSE?
| Focus | Focus Hybrid | |
|---|---|---|
| Bar Feel | Light, direct, free, responsive. | Settled, smooth, locked-in, with more support and feedback. |
| Bar Pressure | Low, the parawing feels weightless. | More present, dampens changes in the wind. |
| Handling | Natural, intuitive, reactive. | Stable on course, stays on a rail, forgiving, front stalls are impossible. |
| Construction | Single skin | Hybrid |
| Best for | Light wind, upwind, downwind, freeride, waves, compact packing. | Strong wind (small sizes), fast freeride and speed (large sizes). |
| Level | Beginner to expert | All levels in small sizes, intermediate to expert in 4.9 and 5.6. |
In summary
Choose the Focus for simplicity, light weight, easy starts, the most intuitive packing, upwind, downwind, or wave riding.
Choose the Focus Hybrid 2.8, 3.5 or 4.2 for maximum stability and safety in strong wind: the parawing stays put, holds its line, and forgives handling errors.
Choose the Focus Hybrid 4.9 or 5.6 if you're an intermediate to expert rider looking for a locked-in, fast, high-performance parawing for freeride or speed, even in light wind. Its upwind performance is very close to the Focus, with the main difference being its course stability.
