The Malus Domestica is the result of a long search for the perfect crossover board. It's for riders who do a lot of strapless freestyle but also want to be able to hit a wave when the opportunity arises. The wide tail and parallel rails make the board very easy to ride, with direct feedback and upwind performance like no other board in its category. The wide platform provides remarkable stability for landing the most committed tricks.
The secret: the triple concave
The Malus Domestica's bottom features a deep, pronounced triple concave. The rail concaves provide great upwind stability. The bottom follows the deck's contour, which makes the effective rail thinner and better in chop without making the board feel too thin overall. The concaves interrupt the rocker line through the middle of the board, creating an ultra-efficient surface for water flow. The result is a fast board that gets on a plane very early and won't slide out on sideways landings.
Quad or thruster
The Malus Domestica is equipped with 5 FUTURES fin boxes, letting you ride it as a quad (4 fins) or a thruster (3 fins). As a quad, the board has more speed and drive through turns, which is ideal for waves. As a thruster, it gains control and pivot, better suited to strapless freestyle and smaller conditions.
White Line Construction
The White Line range features Appletree's best-selling models in a proven standard construction. The exclusive 50K closed cell foam core is wrapped in a hex-skin sandwich: a structural fiberglass layer, a flexible hex-skin honeycomb, and a 45° outer layer. The bottom remains without honeycomb to preserve maximum flex. An additional reinforcement under the front foot completes the package.
